Supermarkets in UK

In England as in Spain there are some chains of supermarkets, where you can find lots of different products.

Saynsburys, Tesco

They are the supermarket more popular of England and they have a space in every town. In my opinion they have a medium quality but they have different ranges, since the supermarket ones until and others own of the supermarket with special quality, and others from UK. Most of the agricultural products have an european origin and most of them produced in UK.

For this two chains of supermarkets they exist a second kind of market more small with the sufix of express. This places use to be near tube stations, petrol stations, etc. You could not find fresh food but there is a lot of basic stuff, like bakery, newspaper, milk, or fast food like sandwich or burgers. The price of the things could be a 33% more expensive than in the normal supermarket.

Every friday they replace everything of the place who go to expire, sandwich for example expire weekly and it is a good time to buy things 3 hours before they close the market. There are a lot of bargains and most of the cases it could be other week to really expire the product.

ALDI, Morrisons

These supermarkets have more variety of products than the others. Despite Morrisons, ALDI only has supermarkets in big towns. Generally speaking they have prices more competitive and the medium class products use to be better than the supermarket I have talked before. In addition, Morrisons has high class products.

I had seen ALDIS in London but I couldn´t see in other town or village I was. In spite of ALDI, Morrisons is very extended in all England and in all villages more than 5k population I had seen ALDIS in London but I couldn´t see in other town or village I was. In spite of ALDI, Morrisons is very extended in all England and in all villages more than 5k population use to be one and very often the biggest of the village.

Wairtrose, Markw & Spencer

Most of the stuff in this chains is high class products and there is a lot of things. The price is superior to the other markets, up to 50%.

ASDA

It is the equivalent to Eroski, or Carrefour in Spain. They are big surfaces where you can find not only food. Also they are very competitives and the quality is not that bad. It use to be in the big towns.

Iceland

This supermarket has one of the prices more competitive in frozen stuff, however in my opinion the other products not have an acceptable quality. For products like snacks, sweets, cans they have the best prices of all supermarkets and the quality is the same. So it is interested if you go to buy this kind of stuff.

Poundland

This shop is like a spanish "TODO A CIEN", buth there is for one pound. You can find the same things for fast food like in iceland and other basic stuff. Also there is stuff related to home with a minimum quality like scholar, bathroom or kitchen material. But the quality of this material use to be very low.
